Thanksgiving Tradition

Saxon in a pilgrim hat...and a necklace... for the occasion

Every Thanksgiving morning we wake early and head for the local turkey trot. Afterwards we invite our friends back to my mom's house and enjoy a gigantic breakfast - which totally makes sense because it is Thanksgiving and there's not a big dinner later or anything...

But it is a great time to catch up with friends who are home visiting for the short holiday weekend. We had about 20 or so people come this year, and Hero and Saxon had their friend, retired guide Tompkins, over too. Tompkins made everyone laugh because he walked through the house, out to the backyard, and right onto the first step of the frigid pool, where he stayed until he was called to leave.

I am thankful for this family tradition, silly dogs, and that the rain held out until after the run and breakfast. Have a wonderful, happy day with your families!

  1. You have an absolutely fantastic blog and love the dogs. I have spoiled my dogs but wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks and keep up the posting.
